"Neil played the bagpipes at our wedding on 12th March at Winton House. He was superb and looked the part. All our guest were very impressed with him and enjoyed having their photo taken with him. We would highly recommend Neil for any occasion." -Sadie and Ross Munro
"Thank you for the wonderful job you did piping at our wedding at Old College. The sound was excellent, our guests (especially from overseas) really enjoyed the music and seeing a bagpiper in full regalia, and the thorough professionalism you brought to the job was much appreciated. Kirsten says that exiting the car at the venue, the first thing she heard was the sound of your pipes, and this was a reassurance to her that everything was actually going ahead! We would be happy to recommend you to anyone looking for a piper at a special occasion." - Mike & Kirsten Slaven
"Neil was the piper at our wedding in South Queensferry. We trusted him to choose what tunes to play and we certainly weren't disappointed! He piped me into the church, piped our wedding party on the walk from the church to the wedding reception venue and then piped my husband and I into the reception. We even had him in some of our group photos with his pipes which was lovely! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Neil to anyone. He is also a genuinely lovely guy!!" - Ant & Cheryl Philipson
"At very short notice to have a Bagpipe Player at our Kirking Service at Greyfriars Kirk on Saturday 30th April 2016, we asked Neil MacPhail if he could come along and play for us.
He contacted us right away to say that he would be pleased to play for us and that he would have an early visit to become familiar with the Kirk and in particular the part of the Service that we take at the grave of Mary Erskine.
Whilst we were preparing for the Deacon Convener and Deacons of all the Trades and the banner bearers to parade along to the Kirk, Neil played outside Greyfriars Bobby's Statue to a crowd of interested onlookers.
He then led us up to the Greyfriars Kirk and pipes us into the Kirk.
Following the Service, we were then led by Neil up to the gates of the Covenanter's Grave Yard and down to the Mary Erskine Grave playing Sarah's Song, at the end of the Service, Neil then led us back to the Kirk playing Annie's Song.
The Incorporated Trades of Edinburgh, the Lord Provost and Deacons and visitors to the Kirking Service have all spoken to us about how pleased they were, and how much our day was made so enjoyable by Neil's playing.
He will be invited to play for us at our other functions during the Year" - The Incorporated Trades of Edinburgh Annual "Kirking Service" at Greyfriars Kirk, 30th April 2016
"Just wanted to properly thank you for piping at our wedding. Even although we got married in Spain it wouldn't have been right without the pipes playing as my wife arrived for the ceremony. The foreign guests loved it and the Scottish contingent felt at home with your competent piping. We had a great time and hope you also had fun and enjoyed that part of Spain. Best regards, Tom & Paula"
"Neil MacPhail played at my wedding on 21st May 2016 at Linlithgow Palace. He was very, very helpful and accommodating in the run up to the wedding, asked if there were any specific tunes we wanted and was at the Palace way in advance to check out the venue before the event. He played the Scottish Pipes and the Small Pipes and played all the tunes we asked for and more. I was more than impressed with him and I would recommend him to anyone who needs a Piper, be it a wedding or another event." - Heather Renton,  May 2016.
"Neil was a pleasure to work with from the moment we met him. Easy, flexible and helpful it was great to have him as part of our event. His attire was fantastic (not just the normal kilt) and it added that amazing extra for our guests. He was very polite and a great performer. I would definitely hire him again for an event if we needed a piper and I would throughly recommend him to anyone looking for this."

“Neil played at our International Burns Night event and we were delighted with him. The event, attended by the First Minister, was held to celebrate the launch of a new international campaign to welcome international students to Scotland, and was attended by 400 students, university staff and dignitaries from around the world. Neil impressed our guests with his playing and set the tone from the start, giving a warm Scottish welcome to guests on arrival, piping them into dinner and then piping in the haggis. Many of our international guests had not been to a Burns supper before, so seeing Neil, in full Highland dress, playing the bagpipes was a wonderful experience for them and something they will tell their friends and family about.
Neil is totally professional, adaptable, quick to respond to e-mails, and an absolute pleasure to work with. I would recommend him to anyone requiring a piper, whatever the occasion.”

TESTIMONIALS

"Neil is one of the nicest and most helpful people you'll ever meet. He looks great in his full No 1. uniform and is a whizz on the pipes. Highly recommended. Not just a great piper, but an all round top bloke! " - David Vivanco - Scottish Ceilidh Events

"Neil Macphail is an exceptionally good piper with a vast repertoire of tunes both traditional and modern. He is equally at home playing in either traditional style or in the modern genre. He is always punctual, reliable, polite, well mannered, always immaculately dressed from full piper's highland dress to Jacobean dress style. He is an asset to any function and I highly recommend him."
